Leveraging Communication Technologies for the IH Profession
Session Id: IH09-RT219 Type: Downloadable
Description
Advances in communication technology and new ideas in the use of old technology are enabling today's industrial hygienist to learn and to convey information in ways previously undiscovered. The speakers will introduce ways that they have been able to use popular, common, and easily usable devices such as the internet, podcasts, and video in order to advance their own professional knowledge, teach students of industrial hygiene, analyze data, and train employees in safe work practices. The topics covered will not only demonstrate how to apply these new technologies to professional development, everyday work practice, and risk
communication, but will also spark ideas and discussion about how industrial hygienists can further advance the use of these valuable tools that are cheaply and readily available. The effectiveness and cost benefits of these communication tools will also be discussed.
