Until recently there has been no industry standard to evaluate the overall protection level of limited use protective apparel. The adoption of ISO 16602:2007 "Protective clothing for protection against chemicals" has changed this. This presentation will cover key elements of the ISO 16602:2007 standard of relevance to the Industrial Hygiene and end user communities including:
• protection level classification
• garment design requirements
• garment labeling
• required barrier performance test methods.
