Global Supply Chains and Social Responsibility: Lessons Learned and IH Activism
Session Id: IH09-RT229 Type: Downloadable
Description
As the shifting of goods manufacturing from developed countries to less developed countries continues, the cultural, educational, technology and government policy and priority differences continue to mount challenges in ensuring worker health and safety in those countries. As part of the Global Supply Chain and Social Responsibility series, this roundtable panel discussion will continue where the morning session left off by focusing on how the IH professional can affect change to improve working conditions throughout the global supply chain. The selected panel, with members representing both industry and non-industry groups involved with global supply chain initiatives, will share their experiences of activities, successes and failures from the "nuts and bolts" perspective. The panel and audience members will then be led in a meaningful discussion of the specific actions industrial hygiene professionals can take, as individuals or within their organizations, to affect positive changes through the supply chain.
