Construction work is increasingly being done on an accelerated schedule. Pressure to get the work done faster and bonuses for early completion have been cited as reasons for the large number of construction fatalities in places such as Las Vegas. Is fast-track construction inherently dangerous or can such projects be done safely? This roundtable session will offer discussion the dangers of fast-track construction and provide examples of fast-track projects that have been accomplished safely. The focus will be on what additional steps are necessary on fast-track projects to minimize the additional risks.
