Having an "engaged" work force is a desired state for many organizations. It is well understood that organizations with an engaged work force have a culture of commitment vs. a culture of compliance or noncompliance. A culture of commitment is when a majority of employees go above and beyond their own self interest. They are connected with the vision and mission of their organization and/or their leader.
