Ageless Wonders: Real Trends on the Aging of Our Work Force

Session Id: IH09-RT216 Type: Downloadable

Description

The work force is changing. Baby Boomers are quickly approaching retirement. And while the official retirement of the first of these boomers will be reached in 2011, when 76 million people will be eligible to leave the workplace, companies cannot continue to run business as usual. There are many perceptions of the aging work force, however, this session is intended to clarify many of these myths by providing current trends and information, supported by new studies and research on the
cognitive and psychological aspects or aging. In addition, company perspectives and legal case studies will be shared to demonstrate how peer companies and executive leadership have begun to manage this very complex issue. Speakers and authors, well-recognized for their knowledge relative to older workers, will provide recent research and company examples of how the business community can prepare to manage this issue.
