A Team Approach to Making Safety Signs Effective
Session Id: IH09-CR315 Type: Downloadable
Description
Facilities everywhere are experiencing problems with posted signs. Too many signs are ineffective, meaningless, inconsistent, and nonactionable; resulting in employees not paying attention to signs that are barriers to hazards. The Idaho National Laboratory wants to share the tools used to assess signs and increase
awareness. Its goal is to standardize signs throughout the laboratory by making them relevant, effective, actionable, and consistent. This presentation will detail the mechanisms and processes used to reach this goal based on ANSI Z535 standards.
