New Views on Mammographic Density
Session Id: CR09-172 Type: Downloadable
Description
Breast density assessed from clinical mammograms remains one of the strongest breast cancer risk factors. Volumetric measures offer a "new view" of breast density providing an assessment of dense volume rather than dense area. Since volumetric density measures generally result in greater time, cost and even participant commitments compared to area-based measures, what will be gained by the use of these "new views" in clinical and epidemiologic research? Is volumetric density the measure of the future for breast density? This forum will present results from two differing volumetric density approaches, including comparisons with area-based measures and studies of younger populations.
